WBFN welcomes all members to attend this workshop introducing you to a world of multicultural literature for children, adolescents and adults. International relocation creates many challenges for families as children struggle with making friends and missing old ones, different languages, new schools, strange foods and fitting in. As a result, children often have difficulty answering the question, “Who am I?” The good news is that there are many books in which characters face the same questions and challenges. Your children will see that they are not alone, but they are special! Dr. Sicola will teach you to use these books as tools to help your family communicate more openly about these issues, and be healthy and happy as they adapt to their new lives in the U.S. and abroad.

Dr. Sicola has lived in the U.S. and Japan, teaching elementary and high school. She now trains language teachers at the University of Pennsylvania. Her company, the Sicola Consulting Group, provides language, culture and educational training programs.

!Se habla español también! Todos estan invitados a participar y descubrir libros multiculturales y maravillosos para usar con sus hijos. !Bienvenidos!
