Like many artists, I have a profound connection to color. Over the years I have used color to create free and fun pieces; some of which have a link to an emotion; others are allowing the colors to speak for themselves.  The main mediums used are Acrylics, oils or mixed mediums.  I would like to share this versatile collection of colorful wonders to inspire your creativity and intrigue in art.

Pigments of my Meditations

Artist: Vanita Venugopal
Exhibit: May 27 - Mid June
Venue: WBFN Conference Room, H2-201
Opening Reception: Friday, May 27, 12:00-2:30pm
Painting to me is like Meditation. It involves in depth perception, an understanding of color and technique, and single pointed attention to detail. It is therapeutic, rejuvenating and liberating. This is a special tribute to my parents, teachers and all the wonderful women’s groups that I belong to.
In 2007, I had an exhibition of my Watercolors - Creative Expressions at the WBFN Gallery. Since 2008, I have been dabbling in oils under a wonderful teacher, Nancy Jung. I like to choose subjects from nature, architecture and my Indian heritage. In creating oil paintings, I find the process as fulfilling as the final product. In future, I plan to explore Impressionistic and Abstract art. I hope you enjoy perusing my collection.
